Vocagathering
Vocagathering is an upcoming posting festival for original songs featuring vocal synths. The event aims to facilitate discovery of vocal synth songs and producers and to promote vocal synth creative culture, especially to the international audience. The first event is called “BETA” since we will be working out logistics as we go!Affiliated with VocaRadio (@Voca_Radio_P on twt).
How does it work?Vocal synth producers will upload their song on an agreed-upon date to YouTube and submit the upload on our website (more details of upload requirements will be released later). Afterwards, the song will automatically be ranked and potentially added to our rankings page. Rankings will be periodically updated for a few days until the event ends, upon which the top ranked songs are solidified into history. We also hope the event uplifts and provides momentum to unranked songs through a bigger audience and algorithmic connection to other songs!

What’s up with the ranking system?To be transparent, entries will be ranked based on a weighted score of the views, likes, and views-to-likes ratio. The system was inspired by VocaColle’s. These rankings are not meant to be an objective measure of song or video quality at all, only a silly way to offer a sort of incentive for some. Please do not take the rankings seriously. There will not be prizes either for this event.Our main goal is to spread attention to producers of all sizes, but particularly small ones. We are actively working on features to platform smaller entries, such as a discovery page featuring a random selection of entries. We also plan to promote unranked entries on our socials during the event.This is our first time holding the event and things will surely change and shift as we figure things out and see what works best for the community based on feedback.
